Anti Sweating Injections

Anti sweating injections treatment work to reduce the amount of sweat produced by the body. Just like anti-wrinkle injections, this treatment is made up of the same substance used to eliminate wrinkles – Botulinum Toxin Type A.

During this procedure, the substance is injected into the area of concern, where excessive sweating is noticeable. The toxin acts to stop the sebaceous glands (where sweat is produced) from over-contracting and excreting unnecessary moisture. This treatment can be applied to the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet, and under the arms.

Anti-sweating injections are an effective solution for people who are unhappily affected by excessive sweating. This condition is medically known as Hyperhidrosis. It can affect anyone of any age, in isolated patches or all over the body, and can be both distressing and embarrassing.

Although sweating is triggered by the body’s need to cool down, Hyperhidrosis can occur at spontaneous moments, with or without a cause. Undergoing this treatment can often liberate the affected person, not only from damp patches on clothing but also from any accompanying odour that sees a person avoiding social situations as well as attempting to conceal their concerns.

Frequently asked questions

Excessive sweating most commonly affects the hands, feet and under the arms. This condition is often noticeable to others, which can impact on a person’s emotional well-being. In this instance Our medial team will take an in-depth look at the concern, considering any likely causes and the results that the person is wanting the treatment to achieve.

This treatment has FDA approval and is recommended and used by many professionals across both the medical and aesthetics industries. This product has become very popular for addressing lines and wrinkles and is rapidly growing in both popularity and reputation for excessive sweating. Anti-sweating injections have a low-side effect profile and can be life-changing.

When applying an injection to the skin, most professionals will warn of “a short, sharp scratch” as it enters the skin. Our medical team  will offer the use of a topical numbing cream, before the actual treatment, alleviating any discomfort that “short, sharp scratches” may produce. The needles that aestheticians use are very fine, reducing the sensitivity further still.

It is possible for anti-sweating injections to cause swelling, redness and bruising at the treatment site.

Any side effects  have often subsided within 24 hours and any bruising can be covered over with cosmetics. Our medical team will discuss other potential complications that can occur after the administration of botulinum toxin, including temporary numbness and infection.

There is little to no downtime with this treatment and you can carry on with your day straight away.
